Dokuz Eylul University Institute of Oncology was established in 3.7.1992, in which its foundation was declarated by law no. 3837 at the Official Newspaper.

It is one of the three Oncology Institutes in Turkey, and it is the only Oncology Institute that is established in Aegean region.

Oncology Institute performs its activities at “ Muzaffer Mufit KAYHAN Oncology Hospital” that was built by Muzaffer Mufit KAYHAN as a donation in Dokuz Eylül University School of Medicine Campus.

Construction of Oncology Hospital was completed with this donation. Modern and contemporary service to Adult and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology patients has been given in Muzaffer Mufit Kayhan Oncology Hospital since 31.3.1999. There are 24 beds in that hospital.

Educational and administrative activities of Oncology Institute take place at the ground floor of the Dokuz Eylül University Research and Practice Hospital (8^th building) for both Adult  Hematology - Oncology and Pediatric Hematology – Oncology units. Executive staff of the Oncology Institute works at that location. Every Thursday, educational meetings take place at the meeting room, which has a capasity for 50 audience.

Laboratory services are given both at Adult and Pediatric Hematology – Oncology Laboratory and Central Laboratory of the University Hospital.
