Course Objective

To make mathematics education in information technology-enriched environments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To comprehend the place and importance of basic concepts related to information technology and its use in classroom.
2   To be able to use interactive whiteboards and similar versions in mathematics education and to prepare suitable instructional materials.
3   To be aware of how spesific software could be used in mathematics education.
4   To be able to prepare suitable instructional materials for using computer algebra systems and dynamic geometry softwares in mathematics education.
5   To be able to teach a course designed with information technologies.

2 The value and importance of using information technologies in mathematics education
3 Introducing usage and application of interactive whiteboards
4 Introducing any interactive whiteboard software and studies about using this software
5 Studies on using any interactive whiteboard software and applications
6 Discussing students presentations about teaching mathematics via an interactive board.
7 Midterm exam
8 Discussing students presentations about teaching mathematics via an interactive board.
9 Usage and application of Geogebra software in mathematics education.
10 Usage and application of Geogebra software in mathematics education.
11 Usage and application of Geogebra software in mathematics education.
12 Discussing students presentations about developing suitable and effective instructional materials using other dynamic geometry softwares.
13 Discussing students presentations about developing suitable and effective instructional materials with Geogebra.
14 Discussing students presentations about developing suitable and effective instructional materials with Geogebra.
