Course Objective

To make pre-service teachers be aware of identity concept towards mathematics teachers that includes the questions Who is a mathematics teacher and What does a mathematics teacher do , to introduce the identity of a mathematics teacher in the context of knowledge, belief and practice and to support pre-service mathematics teachers development of teacher identity.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to make pre-service teachers be aware of identity concept towards mathematics teachers
2   To be able to define and evaluate mathematics teachers identity with knowledge dimension.
3   To be able to define and evaluate mathematics teachers identity with belief dimension.
4   To be able to define and evaluate mathematics teachers identity with teaching practice dimension.
5   To be able to support pre-service mathematics teachers development of teacher identity.
