Course Objective

Students studying the recent and universal subjects in English and expressing themselves on them.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The discussion topics serving not only as material for discussion but also as examples and sources in students lives.
2   The discussion topics being chosen from the fields that can contribute to foreign language training.
3   The students studying each discussion topic on point of grammar,idioms and vocabulary and improving themselves to express in English.
4   The students learning to use the best learning strategies and techniques in their presentations.
5   The discussion topics consisting of national and universal components and helping the students being knowledgable about these values.
6   Helping the students learning the discussion training in two or three whole group sessions, and thus their being capable of lecturing in class.

7 Collective Study on any selected topic .i.e. The Turkish Education System.
8 Mid-term
9 The effects of genetically modified food.
10 The use of nuclear sources to produce electricity and energy.
11 Endangered Languages.
12 The advantages and disadvantages of technology.
13 The comparison of Turkish and British Cultures.
14 Women s Liberation
15 Final exam.
