Course Objective

To give a grasp of the development of XIII. Century Turkish Literature in the territories of Middle Asia, Azeri and Anatolia, to teach the figures and their pieces representing the literary tradition adhered to Sufism in this century, to enable the Former Turkish literature to be popularized and to enable the awareness that this is a part of our national culture and that it has many acquisitions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to comprehend the development of the XIII. Century Turkish literature in terms of territories and to be able to recognize the works of the epoch
2   Being able to comprehend the representatives of Sufism in XIII. Century, their pieces and literary value.
3   Being able to know Mevlana and Yunus Emre in terms of ideas and literature and to analyze their pieces with the acquired knowledge.
4   Being able to evaluate the characteristics and figures of the XIII. Century Turkish literature regarding the territories, to classify the literary texts according to genres
5   Being able to read and interpret the poetic and prose literary texts of the XIII. Century Turkish literature
6   Being able to prepare oneself in order to comprehend the future centuries better by being closely acquainted with the poets of this early epoch and their pieces and, when became a teacher, to be able to convey the acquisitions through the learned method.
