Course Objective

To give a grasp of the development of the XVIII. and XIX. centuries Turkish Literature in terms of the territories through the figures and pieces representing the literary tradition established within the century, to enable the place and importance within the Turkish cultural life of the pieces partaking in the literary scene to be acknowledged

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to determine the literary developments in the XVIII. and XIX. Century Turkish literature and to classify the textual products.
2   Being able to comprehend the differences in style in the classical Ottoman poetry in terms of the common aesthetic values emerged on the basis of epoch
3   Being able to evaluate the literary brightness of the XVIII. and XIX. Century Turkish literature in the Anatolian territory in terms of literary figures and to classify in respect to genres.
4   Being able to read and interpret the poetic and prose literary texts of the XVIII. and XIX. Century Turkish literature written in the Anatolian territory.
5   Gaining knowledge about the later period of the classical Ottoman poetry within the literary tradition of the Century and interrelate the new literary perceptions to be emerged
