Course Objective

To give a grasp of the development of the XV. Century Turkish Literature in the Middle Asian, Azeri and Anatolian territories, of the representative figures of the literary tradition established within the Century and their pieces, to enable the place and importance in the Turkish culture of the pieces partaking in the literary scene to be acknowledged.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to determine the development of XV. Century Turkish Literature in terms of territories and to classify the textual products.
2   Being able to comprehending the situation and influence of Turkish within the panorama of the Century in terms of literary fields
3   Being able to distinguish the literary pieces that prepared the establishment of the tradition of mevlit (Islamic memorial service) which has an important place within Turkish culture, and to relate them with the tradition.
4   Being able to classify the developments in the Masnavi literature regarding the Century and to evaluate thematically.
5   Being able to evaluate the characteristics and figures of the XV. Century Turkish literature regarding the territories, to classify the literary texts according to genres.
6   Being able to read and interpret the poetic and prose literary texts related with the XIV. Century Turkish literature.
