Course Objective

To analyse Turkish prose (story, novel, theatre) from Tanzimat to modern day and to devolop student s ability about that era.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn historical development of Turkish literature
2   Understand change in society by the change in literature
3   Know history of literature and the development of literary historiography
4   Have become aware of the richness of Turkish culture and the culture of climbing awareness, sensitivity improves
5   The major works in the history of Turkish literature, poets and writers knows.

1 What is the history of literature Literature and Literary History Pre-Islamic Turkish literature; Turkish epics. (8.yy.-10th century)
2 Oral Literature Products, Written Literature Products. Islam on Turkish Literature (11th-12th century) Kutadgu-Bilig, Divan-ı Lügat-it Türk, Divan-ı Hikmet, Hiybet ül Hakayık.
3 13. century. Turkish Literature (Divan-Folk Literature) Sufi Literature (Yunus Emre)
4 14. century Turkish Literature (f Gulsehri, Karagoz, Meddah Stories) Midterm Exam
5 15. Century Turkish Literature (Dede Korkut Stories, Ali Şir Nevai, etc.). 16. Century Turkish Literature Fuzuli, Köroğlu, Pir Sultan Abdal etc.)
