To analyse Turkish poetry from Tanzimat to modern day and to devolop student s ability about that era.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 The first examples of the modern Turkish poetry: Ahmet Haşim and Yahya Kemal The old poets who were also write poems after 1923.
2 Poetry in the "National Literature" from the first years of republican period to the 1940.
3 Pure Poetry and "Yedi Meşaleciler".
4 Nazım Hikmet and socialist poetry. Purify moment in Turkish poetry.
5 Continue the same subject.
6 We will study poetic group: Garip.
7 Mid-term exam
8 Mid-term exam
9 We will study poetic group: Hisar.
10 We will study poetic group: Mavi.
11 We will study poetic group: II. Yeni.
12 We will study poetic group: II. Yeni.
13 Post "II.Yeni" group.
14 The last period of Turkish poetry.
