Course Objective

Literature students to develop ties with the Turkish literature edebiyatlarla outside, to be informed of important representatives of world literature, world literature, its place in Turkish literature to contribute accurate assessments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding and explaining the most important works of world literature on the texts
2   To compare the works of Turkish literature and the authors of world literature
3   World authors determine the effects of Turkish literature and analyzing texts.
4   Basic theories of literature, studied the works of Western writers on the practice
5   Movement of texts they read, the function of literature, the current consensus on the approach and conduct problems.
6   To understand its interest in other arts and disciplines of literature, to express his thoughts using the Turkish language properly.

1 Outlines the characteristics of the Western Literature reminder Traces of romance in the poetries of Goethe and the expulsion of Eastern literature
2 Place of the Italian Renaissance literature and examination of Dante's Divine Komedya V. Hugo's Les Miserables and impact of the Tanzimat literature
3 Formation of modern story of Renaissance literature and examination of his work called Boccacio's Decameron. Balzac, Vadideki Zambak, Oğlak Yayınları, Istanbul 2000.
4 Western literature, humor, and Rabelais'nin Gargantua Notes from Underground by Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment and the individual psychology and realism in his works.
5 Examination of W. Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet and compare with Leyla ve Mecnun Final exam
6 Knight's novels and the birth of the modern novel, examination of modern novels characterization
7 Examination of Cervantes Don Quijote
8 Midterm exam
9 D. Defoe's novel Robinson Crusoe and the impact of the world literature
10 Voltaire, Candid or Optimism on Turkish literature assessing the impact of his work and the author
