Course Objective

The aim of the course is to train students about the basic concepts, principles and developmental characteristics for mental health, to enlighten them with unhealthy behavioral and thinking patterns, the factors affecting these patterns and the ways of coping with these patterns, to provide students integrate these knowledge with their professional fields.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehend the basic concepts, principles and historical development of mental health
2   Integrate the mental helath approaches and criterias with own personality
3   Compare the healthy and unhealthy developmental characteristics according to the main theories
4   Integrate the mental health approaches with professional field and the principles of national education system
5   Analyze factors affecting affective disorders, symptoms, preventive and intervention strategies
6   Analyze factors affecting behavioral disorders, symptoms, preventive and intervention strategies
7   Analyze factors affecting habitual disorders, symptoms, preventive and intervention strategies
8   Be wistful to arrange educational content,context and teaching methods to support healthy development and to prevent unhealthy development
