DEGREE PROGRAMMES

History

Department of Turkish Language and Literature was founded in 2011 and started education with Undergraduate Program in 2014 2015 academic years. Our department offers Graduate Studies in Turkish Language and Literature and in the program s language is Turkish. In the beginning of the every semester, students are given a reading list which covers the themes of the semester. The students can procure those books from our library. Our department has not given Ph. Degrees yet. It has planned to give Ph. Degrees for students next year.

Providing high school diploma and being placed in the program as a result of the Student Selection Examination conducted through the central system at the national level. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

In Turkish Higher Education institutions, the recognition of previous formal education and literal and vertical transfers and transfers within the university are carried out within the scope of the assessment criteria determined by the Senate of our University and the REGULATION ON THE PRINCIPLES CONCERNING TRANSFER DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND CREDİT TRANSFER BETWEEN INSTITUTIONS AT UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION AND UNDERGRATUE LEVEL

(1)In literal transfers to the Faculty of Letters the provisions of the Regulation on the principles Concerning Transfers, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer between Instıtutıons at Upper Secondary education and undergraduate Level, published in the Official Gazzette dated 24/04/2010 No: 27561.

(2)In vertical transfers to the Faculty of Letters, the provisions of the Regulation on the Continuation of Graduates of Vocational schools and Open Learning Upper Secondary Education with Undergraduate Programs, published in the Offical Gazzette dated 19/02/2002 and No: 24676

(3)In the transfers of those who completed or those who couldn t complete their undergraduate education to vocational schools, the provisions of the Regulation on Awarding Upper Secondary Education Diploma to those who could or could notcomplate their Undergraduate Education or Adjustament of those who could or could not complete their Undergraduate Education to Vocational Schools, published in the Offical Gazzette dated 18/03/1989

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

4 years, 2 semesters per year, 16 weeks per semester, 240 ECTS in total. In order for students to complete their education succesfully in our faculty, their GPA ( Grade Point Average ) should be at least 2.00. Final year students who are not able to get a GPA of 2.00 are entitled to take a one course examination in order to increase the GPA if they are able to fulfil the condition of a GPA of 2.00 from the courses included in the program of the last four semesters. Those who are not able to get a GPA of 2.00 through one course examination are entitled to take a midterm exam, final exam or make up exam from the courses of the last four semesters. The students benefit from this right of examination in the exam period during the semester in which the courses are opened. The students who would like to benefit from this right of examination declare the exams that they will take at the beginning of the semesters during registration.
In order to complete from the Undergraduate Program of History Department, it is required that the students complete all the courses aquivalent of 240 ECTS offered in the educational plan of 8 semesters and they have the GPA with 2.00 / 4.00

Profile of the Programme

The objective of the Undergraduate Program of the department of Turkish Language and Literature is to raise turkologs who are equipped with the sciencific knowledge, skill and competence that may serve in any field on which Turkish Language and Literature can be applied; who can interpret the effects of the changes in the period of the Turkish Language and Literature and who are objective, crious and scientific.
Department of Turkish Language and Literature s Language is Turkish. Bachelor s have gotten a title which is a Turkolog. They can give lectures domestic and abroad, who can work as an Faculty Member at any University, who can work at archives, libraries and who have necessary qualifications can be appointed as Turkish Language and Literature teachers to the High School.

Kütüphanelerde, arşivlerde, Kültür Bakanlığında, TRT de görev alabilirler.Yükseköğretim kurumlarında 'okutman' olarak çalışabilirler .Öğretmenlik sertifikası alanlar orta dereceli okullarda 'öğretmen' olabilirler. Özel yetenekleri olanlar, gazete ve dergilerde 'yazmanlık', 'editörlük' yapabilirler.Öğretici işlerin yanı sıra çoğu medya kurumunda çalışabilirler.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The assessment methods used for each course are defined in the Course Syllabus Form prepared by the Instructor of the course and included in the Information Package.

Graduation Requirements

The degree is awarded to students who have succesfully completed all the courses in the curriculum and have a minimum Cumulative Grade point Average ( CGPA ) of 2.00 / 4.00 and 240 ECTS.
