Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide the students basic concepts on thermodynamics and specific physicochemical topics such as properties of mixtures, gases, solutions, phase equilibria, reaction equilibrium and electrochemistry.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Know basic concepts of thermodynamics.
2   Be able to interpret the phase diagrams.
3   Be able to describe the thermodyanamic properties of mixtures.
4   Be able to describe the thermodyanamic properties of mixtures.
5   Be able to show how chemical potential is used to account for the equilibrium composition of chemical reactions.
6   Be able to apply the principles of thermodynamics to the solutions of electrolytes.
