This course is an introduction to shipping economics. It aims to explain how the shipping market is organized and to answer some basic questions about how it works: How are prices and freight rates determined

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To gain the ability to analyze the shipping business mechanism.
2   To learn the steps necessary in modeling the maritime concerns especially in evaluating the related problems.
3   To gain the ability to analyze the demand and supply of sea transport.
4   To understand the shipping market cycle.
5   To gain the ability to analyze the costs-revenues and financial performance of the ships.
