Course Objective

Port Economics is the study of the economic decisions (and their consequences) of the users and providers of port services. It aims to evaluate port in all the economic concerns.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the classifying of port users and suppliers of port services in the context of economic demand and supply curves 2   To evaluate the two prices of ports: The price paid to port by the users and the price incurred by port user carriers, shippers and passengers 3   To comprehend the port users and service providers 4   To understand the operations in ports 5   To compare the carrier and shipper demand in port
