Course Objective

This course aims to introduce the concepts and techniques of classical closed loop control, mathematical system modelling approaches and the types of control actions. Additionally, it is aimed to enable students to analyze linear control systems and design appropriate controllers.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to introduce the main components of control systems
2   Be able to familiar to the various control system applications
3   Be able to derive mathematical models of the systems
4   Be able to determine the characteristics of the closed-loop control systems
5   Be able to analyze the control systems by root-locus and frequency-response methods
6   Be able to design a controller by root-locus and frequency-response metods
7   Be able to design a control system by state variable feedback method
8   Be able to use Matlab programming environment for the purpose of analyzing and designing of a control system
