Course Objective

Mountainous areas which is one of the most important geographical unites, become used more in terms of resource values. Not only this aspect, but also with the human element, mountainous areas require specific policy. At the same time, assessment of mountainous areas potential in the terms of sustainable development principle, countries which have 2/3 mountainous areas like Turkey, is important for the next generations in taking advantage of opportunities. It is aimed to include European Council decisions, Karpat and Alps on the perspective of Draft European Charter of Mountain Regions, and other applications areas.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to know terms of Mountain and Management of Mountain Area
2   Being able to understand Draft European Charter of Mountain Regions and its applicability
3   Being able to assess Sustainable Mountain Development and Global Development
4   Being able to know management of mountainous area applications in the world and Turkey
5   Being able to understand applicable models of mountainous area and examine comparatively
