Course Objective

International judicial assistance refers to co-operation with the competent authorities about any foreign country to make the legal process. The subject of Internatonal judicial assistance expresed differently in variant law systems. The subject and scope of the Internatonal judicial assistance differs from county to country. Internatonal judicial assistance used in broad and in a limited sense. When its used in broad sense, guarantee, service abroad, evidence abroad, obtaining information about foreign law, recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and legal aid are included.When its used in limited sense, it only means one part of taking evidence from foreign countries called letters of request. Course objective is giving information about Internatonal judicial assistance in broad sense by identifying national and international regulations.

4 Multilateral agreements about International guaranties which Turkey became party to

6 Service abroad as part of international agreements
7 Procedures of taking evidence from foreign countries (letters of request)
8 Midterm Exam
9 Procedures of taking evidence from foreign countries (taking of evidence by diplomatic officers, consular agents)
10 Procedures of taking evidence from foreign countries (taking of evidence from foreign countries by judges)
11 Procedures of taking evidence from foreign countries (taking of evidence by videoconferencing)
12 Procedures of taking evidence from foreign countries (importation of evidence)
13 Obtaining information about foreign law
14 Recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards
