Course Objective

Structure of human parasitic insect and acarina, and their vectorial disease, physiopathology of them will be learned teoric, practice and seminar presentation.

1   Define and discuss artropods
2   Identify insects and relate with clinical cases
3   Discuss the infections that artropods can transmit and recommend solutions about fight against vectors
4   Prepare slides from patient s sample
5   Identify mites and relate with clinical cases
6   Debate application areas of insecticides
7   Use knowledge and experience about insects and mites in research projects

1 General properities of arthropoda and their classification
2 Vector of arthropoda and diesase of clinic which transmission of them
3 Methods of attacking and collecting of arthropoda
4 Basic principles and structure of insecta, phlebotomus and its parasitism
5 Mosquitos and importance of human health
6 Flies related to myiasis, myiasis, maggotherapy and importance of human health
7 Simulium, tabanus, other flies (stomoxys, culicidia, glossina) and importance of human health
8 Pediculus and importance of human health
9 Pulex and importance of human health
10 Cimex, reduvid bugs and importance of human health
11 General properties and structure of acarina, S. scabiei ve D. folliculorum and their importance of human health
12 Ticks and importance of human health
13 Other acarina (dermaniside, pyemotes, trombiculit) and their importance of human health
14 Ectoparasiter drugs and their mechanism of effect
15 Classification of insecta, their mechanism of effect and other vector filghts
