Course Objective

This course aims to gain the student a deep knowledge and skills related to care with cultural competency using a theory- and research-based approach.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student can analyze and use selected transcultural nursing models.
2   The student can make theory-based cultural assessment.
3   The student can explain the culture-health relationship based on research results.
4   The student can evaluate selected cultures general view of health and disease.
5   The student can identify strategies to provide care with cultural competence.
6   The student can analyze the strategies used to provide care with cultural competence.
7   The student can explain the the role of cultural diversity in nursing training
8   The student experiences the strategies used to provide equal care to community.

Assessment Criteria

The student s interpretation, recollection, decision making, description, information combination skills shall be assessed via exams.
In the project, the student s ability to making research on the subject, analyze the subject, compare the results with real-life examples, include evidence-based applications, write and express ideas are assessed.
Participation of the student: The knowledge and experiences will be shared via participation and concepts will be discussed and absorbed.
