Course Objective

To give information about the anti-cancer treatment methods and chemotherapeutic agents to the basic science students and hence to provide a cooperation between basic and clinical science.

1   Knows the main cancer treatment methods and anti-cancer agents
2   Be able to recognize structure and mechanisms of anti-cancer agents.
3   Knows the clinical use of anti-cancer agents in the treatment of specific types of cancer.
4   Knows the general treatment methods that used in clinical oncology practice.
5   Be able to criticize and plan and clinical oncology studies

7 Main principles of chemotherapy application in clinical setting (Elderly)
8 Main principles of chemotherapy application in clinical setting (Childhood)
9 Drug sensitivity and resistance
10 Biological response modifiers, Growth factors, and Dendritic Cell Based Therapy
11 Gen therapy and other new treatment methods
12 Use of hormones in the treatment of cancer
13 Cancer prevention and cancer vaccines
14 Differentiating agents and TNF

Theoretical and practical courses done, Giving practical examples about the spesific treatment methods used in the certain type of cancer (eg breast cancer, lung cancer), working on the chemotherapeutic, biological and targeted agents, intermediate and final exam done.

1. To know the main cancer treatment methods and anti-cancer agents
2. Be able to recognize structure and mechanisms of anti-cancer agents.
3. To know the clinical use of anti-cancer agents in the treatment of specific types of cancer.
4. The general treatment methods that used in clinical oncology practice will be evaluate in applied lessons.
5. To question the making of intermediate and searching capabilities related to clinical oncology researchs will be evaluate with midterm and final exam.
