Course Objective

Within the scope of the Turkish Sculpture Art and Art Market, the purpose is to determine the existing conditions of the sculpture art within the changing culture until the Republican period, and to gain the skills of enlightenment, understanding the basic concepts, analyzing and evaluating with respect to it.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to describe the process which the Turkish Art underwent since the period before the Republic Era
2   Tobe able to analyze the factors affecting the features of the plastic arts in the Turkish Culture in the historical process
3   To be able to define the relationship of the sculpture art with the Turkish cultural values in the period before the Republic era.
4   To be able to describe the status of the plastic arts within the westernizing process in the Turkish society
5   To be able to tell about the process of establishment of the schools giving the education of art and the sculpture artists pioneering in this field

3 State of the art of sculpture in the culture of the nomadic
4 Islam's encounter with the Turkish culture, Islam's stance on the plastic arts
5 The adoption of Islam within the framework of the phenomenon of migration to Anatolia and synthesis of Turkish culture within the plastic arts.
6 Place within the art of painting and sculpture Seljuk
7 Ottoman culture and attitude towards the plastic arts
8 Mid-Term Exam
9 Cultural change and reform efforts of the Tulip Period
10 The 18th century, the phenomenon of Westernization: Painting lessons in schooling efforts.
11 The 19th century, the process of Westernization and art scene
12 The origin of Western art institutions, European art scene and comparison with of Ottoman art scene
