Course Objective |
Character, as a basic element of narrative, is a very important concept to understand. The lesson aims at understanding historically and socially the emergence and development of character , and how it was transformed in different narrative structures and social structures. Creating a character as the bearer of action in a narrative is one of the most important stage of grasping the reality and creating an effective narrative. Therefore, the lesson aims at teaching what character is, how it emerged, developed and was transformed. |

The students are responsible from reading the suggested sources before coming to the class. Assessments will be done considering the student s joining the discussions and a paper to be prepared on the analysis of a character to be selected by the student. |
