Course Objective

It is to understand the usage of tapestry Works as an artistic expression form and the importance of tapestry for the development process of fiber art, to criticise the expression, production techniques and materials by examining the international works of fiber art in the past and modern day, to carry out artistic applications along with simple or mix media elements in different disciplines and to discuss the presentation possibilities of the work in space and natural environment.

2   2. Learning transition phases from tapestry to textile/fiber art and current situation in the modern-day
3   3. Learning Pioneer examples of fiber art and its contemporary examples in different geographies
4   4. Discussing the relations of color, texture, pattern, shape and style in the example works of international artists and mix media applications
5   5. Developing presentation suggestions by carrying out two or three dimensional artistic Works with textile materials and/or techniques or other techniques

2 Starting points of contemporary tapestry applications/works and their transformation process
3 The relations between tapestry and textile/fiber art. Examples of international works
4 The situation of textile/fiber art in the world and our country. Its place within the field of plastic arts
5 Discussing the ideas about themes of the works. Trials for discovering the relations of technique, material and mix media. Discussing the details of applied work and experiencing the process of producing a work
6 Experiencing several elements about the details of applied work such as technique and material
