Course Objective



Biological samples are indispensable sources in the studies of disease diagnosis, treatment, genetic, drug development. Currently, a large part of the biobanks was established in universities and research centers. The aims of the course are to create awareness about high quality medical record systems, comprehensive data-base connections, ethical issues encountered in the process of biobanking and relevant rearrangements.



Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have basic theoretical knowledge about the storage of biological samples and critically discuss with others
2   To have knowledge about specific techniques in biobank-relevant studies.
3   To analyze information critically
4   To evaluate research in biobanking field and able to make interpretation
5   To Access into data bases about biobanking and able to use collected data effectively
6   Plan whole ethical issues in the biobanking processes in detail.
7   To have skills in the application of basic laboratory techniques

Assessment Criteria


Students performance will be evaluated by using literature survey about a specific project, data collection, its organization, analyzing as well as the abilities on reporting, presentation and discussion.
