Offered to

Molecular Medicine

Course Objective

The detailed course objectives are: to learn the general information and concepts about pharmacology and moleculer pharmacology, to have information about target molecules of drugs, like receptors, ion channels, enzymes, carrier molecules, to have information about moleculer models in drug-receptor interaction and radioligand binding methods, to have information about the mechanisms of action of drugs targeting intracellular molecules or cell components which is currently used or under development, to understand and interpret the drugs or treatment modalities which have roles in physiological and/or pathological processes and molecular structures.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   be able to define the concepts and general information about the molecular pharmacology
2   be able to identify the target molecules of drugs
3   be able to understand the mechanisms of action of drugs at the molecular level
4   be able to evaluate and identify the effects of drugs used for diagnosis and treatment
5   be able to know and identify the molecules that mediate the adverse effects of drugs and, establish the relationship of pharmacogenetics
