Course Objective

In the aims of the course to learn the carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolisms; to realize the metabolic pathways with the clinical cases with metabolic disease.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the carbohydrate metabolism
2   Understand the lipid metabolism
3   Understand the protein metabolism
4   Be able to integrate the metabolic pathways
5   Analyze critically metabolic disease pathogenesis (with the samples of the patients with common metabolic disorders) and discuss the pathogenesis of these disorders with the laboratory findings.
6   Understand the regulation of the energy metabolism
7   Understand and discuss energy production in the mitochondria.
