Course Objective

The aim of this course is to have the students do a sample documentation study and to teach them to plan the restoration process of the carpet to be restored and the techniques used during restoration.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   make technical analysis of the carpet to be restored in the documentation stage,
2   make the restitution of a carpet by completing the missing part in terms of schematic,
3   apply the techniques used in restitution,
4   use the computer program that can make restitution,
5   present the restitution work effectively.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, the lecturer s notes and resource researches will be used. Visual presentation will be done, and application works will be realized in the workshop under the supervision of the lecturer.

Evaluation criteria is made up of the students researches on the subject, project preparation and presentation and their success at design works.

Assessment Criteria

The students researches and assignments will be evaluated out of 100. Attendance will be effective on the pass grade by 20 %.

Course Policies and Rules

80 % attendance is compulsory. Workshop studies are nominal. Especially, designs and applications have to be completed in a lesson s time.
