Course Objective

It is aimed to evaluate within the context of human-goods in accordance with defining, categorizing, arranging chronological examination of fashion accessories product groups; forming a source of social, public, cultural, economical changes of fashion accessories products to innovative and creative designs in fashion accessories design area.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define and classify fashion accessories product groups
2   To be able to evaluate fashion accessories products within historical period in terms of art and culture
3   To be able to express the changes of fashion accessories products in terms of material, form and manufacturing techniques
4   To be able to explain the designs of fashion accessories products directed to their psychological and sociological meanings
5   To be able to make presentations by using scientific methods with field research

1 Introduction to Fashion Accessories history.
2 Defining and classifying fashion accessories products.
3 Determining assignment subjects / Presentation general information about evaluation of fashion accessories products development within historical period.
4 Explaining design criteria, which will be taking into account in the historical examination of fashion accessories products, by examples. Examination of fashion accessories products sources, which completes the clothing, their symbolical and functional roles that they undertake in society, phases until reaching current qualifications on the basis of Anatolia and other cultures.
5 Role between human-goods in chronological examination of fashion accessories products
6 Explaining the changes of fashion accessories products in line with social, public, cultural, economical by examples.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. The course can be carried out verbally (by the participation of lecturer and students) and by using visual sources (barcovision, dia, video, etc.).
2. The students, who attend the class, will have the briefing related to the subject to be told in that week.
3. The students are asked to choose research subjects about topics directed to classifying in terms of functions and meanings for material, manufacturing techniques form usage" of fashion accessories product groups in the beginning of the semester.
4. Performed researches are requested on condition that they are in written and in computer environment supported by visual data, which complies with scientific method.
5. In assignment presentations, the research as well as student s expression way of the subject are evaluated.
