Course Objective

This course aims students to perform basic clothing process floats by using the various special machines in apparel industry.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to know the apparel machines used in the ready-made production and know their functions
2   To be able to perform sewing techniques and all kinds of lace techniques on different kinds of fabrics in different sizes
3   To be able to follow the sewing procedure floats that form a cloth
4   To be able to sew the parts that require special sewing
5   To be able to perform pocket, collar, zip, cuff and their kinds
6   To be able to perform dart, belt, cloth and their kinds

1 Introduction and the training of the machines in apparel atelier (students will be informed about the machine control, threading)
2 Seam and all kinds of piece techniques on fabrics in specified size and kind will be taught
3 Application of the seam techniques of the parts that require special seam
4 Applique types
5 Hooded pocket study
6 Double fleto pocket study
7 Single fleto (zip-down) study
8 Single fleto (buttoned, covered ) study
9 Side pocket (trousers and skirt)
10 Single and double sided zip study
11 Zip study on liner
12 Hidden zip study
13 Patent zip study
14 The preparation and the delivery of the files with a certain number of studies inside. File evaluation

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1.Coursers
The lecturer guides students for using the confection machines used in ready-made clothing production.
2. Revision sessions and class discussions
Jig and the pattern of the basic clothing forms, transforming these on to the used fabric and making them ready for the production
3. Applications
Process float of the basic cloth forms are applied.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The evaluation will be according to the students analysis on basic cloth forms given at the evaluation stage, their ability to piece parts f different basic cloth forms.

1. There is a 70 % obligation in attendance to lesson.
2. All plagiarism attempts and actions would end up in disciplinary punishment
3. Nonattendance to the lesson, not performing the required responsibilities will not be accepted.
