Course Objective

This course aims to analyse the three-dimensional technical drawing and details in cloth design and to give information on these, to prepare a collection file made up by three dimensional technical drawings by taking the design methods and technical drawing criteria into the consideration.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Perform three dimensional technical drawings of basic cloth forms,
2   To prepare a collection made up by three dimensional technical drawings by taking the design methods and technical drawing criteria into the consideration,
3   Perform the technical analysis of designs by creating creative and innovator products,
4   Transmit the details and the expansions of three-dimensional technical drawings
5   Apply different effects by colorising the technical drawing and details of two and three dimensional cloths on Adobe Photoshop and vector based Corel Draw programmes
6   Prepare the technical drawing files in detail that includes the products from the collection.

1 Explaining the three dimensional technical drawings and its presentation via samples
2 Transition of a collection and informing by taking the design methods and technical drawing criteria into the consideration
3 Forming the product groups
4 Study of determining fabric and material according to the product groups
5 Performing the technical drawing sketches
6 Performing the technical drawing sketches
7 The evaluation of the sketches with the students on the basis of collection
8 File preparation
9 Applying different effects and colourising the technical drawings on Adobe Photoshop and vector based Corel Draw programmes

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. Classes
The lecturer guides students about how to draw three dimensional technical drawings and details of cloth forms.
2. Revision sessions and class discussions
Revision sessions will be held by the lecturer in the first and the last hour of each week at the stage of preparing a small collection. Assignments and class activities will form the basis of analysing the technical drawing in these sessions. Students will be encouraged for preparing and presenting the technical drawing pages.

Assessment Criteria

Students will prepare a file of a small collection made up by three dimensional technical drawings. Draw the expansions and the details of three-dimensional technical drawing, apply different effects by colorising the technical drawing and details of two and three dimensional cloths on Adobe Photoshop and vector based Corel Draw programmes.

Course Policies and Rules

1. There is a 70 % obligation in attendance to lesson.
2. All plagiarism attempts and actions would end up in disciplinary punishment
3. Nonattendance to the lesson, not performing the required responsibilities will not be accepted.
4. For late project deliveries, decreasing a letter grade for each day will be applied.
