Course Objective

Acquire the advanced knowledge about implantable hearing aids amplification systems and perform implantable hearing aids rehabilitation using implantable hearing aids.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Able to describe the steps used in the implant selection and fitting process.
2   Able to explain the function of the all components of middle ear, cochlear, and brainstem implants.
3   Knowledge evaluation of auditory perception tests before and after implantation
4   Describe the design and function of implants.
5   Know to background issues of relevance to implants features (e.g. characteristics of impaired hearing, technological constraints, epidemiology of hearing loss, prescription methods, and methods for assessing performance with implants, psychosocial factors affecting implants use)
6   Able to use quality of life indicators.
