Course Objective

This course provides the students with discussions of the role of the rehabilitation counselor including techniques involved in counseling and the rehabilitation process: case finding, client interviewing and evaluation of behavior, the development, formulation and implementation of individualized rehabilitation plans, referral and advocacy.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand and explain thecognitiveand emotional concepts related to rehabilitation needs of people with special needs
2   To know the bio-psycho-social effects of illnesses
3   Learn about the dynamics of rehabilitation regarding different age groups
4   Learn to use eclectic approach in rehabilitation counseling
5   Acknowledge the ethical responsibilities in rehabilitation counseling
