Course Objective

This course aims to provide a historical analysis of the Turkey´s foreign policy since the establishment the Republic, to examine Turkish foreign policy since the establishment of the Republic of Turkey in a period of historical study and to investigate internal and external dynamics affecting Turkish foreign policy and the process of formation and implementation of Turkish foreign policy.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand basic terms of Turkish Foreign Policy, use these terms to connect and explain political, economic and social and cultural events
2   To describe important persons and institutions who and which affect Turkish Foreign Policy
3   To explain similarities and differences between Ottoman Diplomacy and Turkey's Diplomacy
4   To evaluate development and transition of the Turkisg Foreign Policy from the past to present
5   To analyse Turkish Foeign Policy
