Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the history of the Aegean world, Western Anatolia, The Cyclades and mainland Greece. The cultural history of the region focusing on material findings will be a real asset for understanding today.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn the background of Aegean geography and the geographical data that does not change despite changing cultures, natural environment and possibilities.
2   Learn the earliest phases of human history by focusing on cultural lives developed by Aegean people
3   Acquire knowledge about material culture of the Aegean culture.
4   Analyze literary and musical components of the Aegean culture
5   Explore the human dimension of the Aegean culture
