Course Objective

It is to examine the conditions of change and alteration of societies with an aim of providing students with an understanding of the foundations of sociology.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   explain the birth and development of sociology
2   be able to apprehend the main interest of sociology
3   understand the importance of sociology for modern societies
4   know how to think about the problems of society and contribute to the solutions of them
5   apprehend the different characteristics of sociology from other social sciences
6   explain the nature of social institutions
7   explain the social theories and concepts
