Course Objective

The aim of the course is to demonstrate historic sources such as itineraries (e.g. logbooks, roadbooks, etc.) embassy reports, theatre plays and the like reflecting a European stance towards Turkey and Turks.

1   Makes use of concepts such as signifié and the other
2   Discovers European literature written on Turks
3   Learns stance and impressions in Europe towards Turkish governance
4   Gains knowledge on how Europeans interpret Turkish everyday life
