Course Objective

In economic history, there are different periods. To understand the existing contemporary period, we should know past periods. To understand the existing capitalist system we should know 16. centuary's economic system which was mercantilism. After mercantilism, there was the period of physiocracy and then we will examine the theory of Adam Smith. To understand the critique of capitalism, we should be aware of the theory of karl Marx. In this course, we will analyze the characteristics of mercantilism, physiocracy, capitalism, marxism.

1   To learn different economic models before capitalism.
2   To learn capitalist economic system
3   To learn marxist economic model
4   to learn the comparision of capitalism and marxism
5   To learn the history of money and interest, how interset becomes the key element of the capitalist system.
