Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the relationship between archaeology and art, the importance of archaeological objects exhibited in museums from the art history perspective, the role the works of art exhibited in museums play in developing the cultural and aesthetic level of the society.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students define the relationship between art and archaeology
2   Students evaluate archaeological objects from the art history perspective
3   Students learn the chronological development of art types and movements from the ancient civilizations onwards
4   Students compare and discuss the works of art
