Course Objective |
This course explores the public nature of private violence, spesicifically violence against women, LGBTQI people. Students will investigate the social, political and personal meaning of violence within gendered context. Throughout the course students will analyze the ways in which philosophical, social, cultural, economic and political factors teach us to think about discrimination on women and LGBTQI people. In result of that analysis, students will also examine the social phenomena such as race, ethnicity and class affect the degree and type of violence against women, LGBTQI people and all the disadvantaged groups in Turkey as well as in the world. |
