Course Objective

The objective of this course is to study the system of patriarchal thought within its historical frame on the basis of mythology and cultural anthropology.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To make the distinction that patriarchy is not NATURAL but a CULTURAL construct,
2   To analyze the impact of patriarchy on our cultural memes,
3   To notice that patriarchy has perfect internalisation systems to effect on culture,
4   To analyze how history has been written from a patriarchal point of view,
5   To analyze cultural products from this point of view by using the appropriate methods.
