Course Objective

Adequate knowledge of written and spoken English to:
- Understand charts, nautical publications, meteorological information
- Read and understand technical publications
- Understand messages and communications concerning the ships safety in general.
- Communicate with other ships, coast stations and multilingual crew.
- Use and understand the IMO SMCP phrases.

1   Knowledge of maritime english on Ship maintenance, Cargo handling
2   Knowledge of maritime english on Maritime Business terminology, Official records and documentation,
3   Knowledge of maritime english on Berthing and Cargo documentation, Letter of protest, Ships journal,
4   Knowledge of maritime english on Accident Reports, Surveys and Inspections
5   Knowledge of maritime english on Medical terminology.
