Course Objective

Understanding the structure of supply chain management, explaining the conditions required for managing supply chain effectively and evaluating the decisions that needs to be given at each stage of supply chain and quantitative and qualitative methods that are used to give these decisions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the structure and functioning of supply chain.
2   To be able to present information about the elements of supply chain.
3   To be able to discuss the factors that affect the effectiveness of supply chain.
4   To be able to express the qualitative and quantitative methods and tools that are used to increase the performance of supply chain.
5   To be able to clarify the decisions that must be given in supply chain management.
6   To be able to explain the methods and tools utilezed to give these decisions.

5 Production and outsource decisions, break-even analysis
6 Supplier selection and supplier selection methods
7 Distribution, distribution channel, distribution requirement planning, distribution resource planning
8 Midterm exam

10 Transportation management and warehouse management
11 Supply chain network design and optimization
12 Enterprise resource planning (ERP), lean supply chain and agile supply chain
13 Reverse supply chain management, environmentally sensitive supply chain
14 Supply chain performance measurement, evaluation of supply chain and logistics infrastructure of Turkey, international supply chain management
