Course Objective

The aim of this course is to help students analyze the relationship between feminism, discourse and translation and thus to consider the act of translation from different perspectives.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will relate gender to translation and learn the varying approaches that may come up within this context.
2   They will learn to make a critical analysis of the translated texts.
3   They will learn what is meant by discourse and different explanations that form the discourse.
4   They will be able to identify and solve the translation problems.
5   They will be able to justify their decisions..

2. Students should deliver their homework assignments on time. Being absent is not considered an excuse.
3. Assesments will include the midterm and final exams and homework assignments.
