Course Objective

The aim of this course is to make students cognized the development of kalam and construction of basic concepts of kalam and give student the ability of reading classical texts of kalam from english language.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student will know the essence and meaning of kalam
2   The student will explain the process of existence of kalam and its subjects
3   The student will comprehend basic theological schools and its debated problems.
4   The student will see the place of kalam among other Islamic Sciences and construct the relation between different kalam schools.
5   The student will comprehend the critiques on content and method of Kalam
6   The student will improve reasoning on kalam and the effects of kalam debates on Islamic thought and culture.
