Course Objective

To learn the emergence and development of the science of Kalam (Islamic Theology), considering all its historical conditions, and to prepare the ground for understanding of systematic Kalam s subjects correctly.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students, will have information about the structure of the pre-Islamic Arab society thought and religious structure.
2   will have information on the religious thought of Judaism, and on their relationship with the Muslims, in the early period of Islam.
3   will have information on the religious thought of Christianity, and on their relationship with the Muslims, in the early period of Islam.
4   will have information on the impact of the Gnostic thought and Greek Philosophy on the Islamic Theology.
5   will gain the opportunity to see the impact of the historical and sociological conditions on the science of Kalam.
