Course Objective

To learn Turkish pre-Islamic religions and their impacts on Islamic period in respect of beliefs and practices

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   the student know pre-lslamic beliefs of the Turks
2   will be understand features of Traditional Turkish Religion
3   can separate resemblance and differences between traditional Turkish beliefs and Islam
4   can evaluate impacts of traditional Turkish beliefs on folk beliefs and practices in their understanding of Islam
5   can analyze the root of current folk beliefs in the pre-Islamic Turkish traditions.
6   can make comments on current religious issues using Turkish religious history.
