Course Objective

To put forward arise, developing and institutionalization process of Islamic education
in history. To study selected verses of Quran and hadiths and Islamic understanding of
science that were function of arising the Islamic education theories. To examine the
developing process of Islamic education in Maqqa and Madinah period from the Prophet
Muhammad. To evaluate educational movements and institutionalization period after the
Prophet Muhammad until the time of Madrasah. To analyze the arise, developing and
closing periods of these madrasah which were used to be a key element of formal
religious education.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They will understand Islamic view of education and teaching
2   They will be able to explain main lines of Islamic educational theories and
3   They will understand and express the importance that Islam has given to education
4   They can make connection between general educational theories with Islamic educational theories.
5   They will have ability to evaluate the developments and improvements in education before and after Madrasah.

11 Establishing Ottoman's madrasahs and earlier madrasahs in Ottomans
12 General features and structures of Ottoman's madrasahs
13 First-degree education in Ottomans
14 Reasons of collapse seen in madrasahs
