Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students the history of children and childhood in Turkey around specific issues.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define the concept of childhood in Ottoman-Turkish society
2   To be able to explain the place of children in the family
3   To be able to explain the relationship between poverty and child labor
4   To able to summarize the transformation of concept of childhood in modernization process
5   To be able to write the impact of wars and immigration on children
