Course Objective

The aim of Turkish literature lesson is making the students learn to effects of postmodernism on the works about Turkish literature and its artists.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The near term, in terms of analyzing the effects of postmodernist works of Turkish literature.
2   Literary works of art "building" concept, and the text "structure" to give the components to comprehend.
3   To understand the trends and characteristics of modern literature.
4   To establish and understand the relationship between the disciplines of literature and other arts.
5   Based on current problems of the modern world of literary works, literary works across them to make comments on the situation.
6   Literature to be able to comment on issues and trends, to do independent scientific research.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 World and in Turkey to promote books have been written on postmodernism
2 The concept of modernism and postmodernism in literature and other art forms to talk about the meaning and sources over information given about postmodernism in literature.
3 Postmodernism and the story of the novel technique, fiction, language and expression characteristics in terms of contributions; aesthetic distance between author and work are discussed in terms of negative aspects.
4 In the stories of Tarık Dursun K. traces of postmodernism will be investigated traces of postmodernism.
5 The Novel by Orhan Pamuk My Name is Red in terms of postmodernism will be examinated.
6 In the Oğuz Atay's story book Fear while Waiting , to read his story on the book of selected stories and postmodernism in terms of examining
7 In the Novel by Latife Tekin, Dear Impudent Death postmodernist elements will be determined
8 First exam
9 Postmodern writer-reader-party works (novels person) to discuss relationships.
10 The novel by Metin Kaçan How Eight Hazelnut to be addressed in terms of postmodernism
11 Ihsan Oktay Anar's The Atlas of the Hazy Continents and The Stories of Afrasiyab of his work to investigate traces of postmodernism
12 The novel by Hasan Ali Toptaş Thousand Gloomy Pleasure evaluated in terms of compliance with the principles of postmodernism
13 In the Elif Şafak's novels Secret , Private and Love to investigate traces of postmodernism
14 In the Süreyya Evren s novels Restaurant Ur and I Loved A Postmodernist Girl how used to work postmodernism will be examined.
